Original recipe from Deutschland: 1 tblspn or rounded Melitta scoop of a grind finer than that used for drip for each 4 oz of H2O. Let water cool for a minute after it boils before pouring in stages. It is in the second pour that the golden crema will surface. Be sure you take in the aroma; you will almost taste the sweetness with out opening your mouth!! Most home drip brewers will not reach 190 degrees and water should exceed 200. Pouring your own water over a Melitta gives ultimate control of water temperature for adequate saturation and extraction.
