Our Story
Cafe means coffee and Huehue is short for Huehuetenango a department or state in northwest Guatemala. Thus the name Cafe Huehue implies coffee from Huehue (pronounced way-way).

As a young pastor in the highlands of Huehuetenango Guatemala, Felipe and his wife Martha acquired a small piece of land hoping that some day it might provide a retirement. Eventually their oldest son Edwin and his wife Evelyn together bought some of this land and added to it over the years. And now today almost 50 years later… it is still a really small piece of land. However it is now producing some of the finest coffee in the world.

Today my wife Nina and I buy the raw coffee from my parents, grandparents and even my Uncle Carlos and Aunt Delmi. Yes, this is a family venture. And with much pride we sell it direct to some of the finest micro roasters in North America and Japan. We only export the very best of the crop. When the U.S.-bound coffee arrives we set aside less than 1% and after receiving your order, we will custom roast your coffee to where we feel it shines best. Upon roasting your order, we ship it fresh the same day. Period! No exceptions, this is how we can guarantee our world class coffee from our farm to your door.
